The Bellevue cotton farm pumps water from the Namoi River, then irrigates the land by the furrow irrigation method, which uses siphon tubes to supply water downslope through small, parallel ditches. The effects of the Bellevue farm on the groundwater and the Namoi River will be studied from a number of subsurface bores and a weather station on site.
