A transect of shallow and deep telemetered piezometers will be installed along this main discharge area for Ti tree Basin moisture sensors will also be installed between the land surface and the water table at the same five sites, to monitor movement of infiltrating water following extreme rainfall events. A weather station, complete with eddy covariance system for measuring actual evaporation and evaporation pan for measuring potential evaporation, will be installed on the site. These installations will be used for the studies of groundwater discharge in arid environments, and for studying the balance between recharge and discharge and the impact of high intensity rainfall events on the balance.
